I made this website for a school project. But it soon became so much more than that, and i realized, it's not a school project. It's a life project. I turned this in for a grade but I am not finished with it. This website is not for a grade, it's for a larger cause.

There is a great divide between trans people and cis people in society today. Much of that is hate and ignorance, but a large portion is just people who simply don't understand. They want to accept us and support us, but they don't know how. The first step towards living together in peace is education. If they can't understand us and our experiences, there will always be a noticeable divide. Many are willing and want to learn, so they turn to google.

When you google "trans" or any term related to that, what you get is nothing. You either get psychologists saying we're messed up in our brains, parents who are worried for their kids, parents who hate their kid and are seeking to change them, people who are purposely trying to spread misinformation. You will occasionally find a good source, but to get there you have to fight through a tub of sludge that is trying its very best to hold you back. And even then, not all of the information might be right. That's because people aren't looking in the right place. You can read all the articles you want, but you will never know enough to understand us. That's because they don't know that the people themselves are the best source. The best way to learn about trans people is to talk to them, to hear their stories, and listen to whatever advice they tell you.

I've created a place for that. A place for both trans and cis people. For trans people the goal is to give hope, to spread out stories and connect with each other, and know were not alone. For cis people, it's education. Read our stories, look at our art, because the best source you will find is right here in this very website, in the words of trans people themselves.

Many trans people go through many different types of experiences in life, but the biggest similarity between them is that they could be better. If you're cis, help us. Help us in the fight for basic human rights and equality. Help us life fuller, better lives. If you're trans, you're not alone. There are others like you that stand with you, we will get you through it. If you have privilege, use it to help the people that don't. Use it close the large gap between us, use it to give us a life worth living, use it to stop the constant hate against us, use it to ease our fear of living. And when you use it, use it to remember that we are people, and we deserve a good life. We are just like you, no different; people who need comfort, happiness, something and someone to hold dear. Help us make that a reality. Thank you.
